107. Eesti Vabariigi aastapäeva tähistamine

Bostoni Eesti Selts kutsub kõiki osa võtma meie iga-aastasest iseseisvuspäeva tähistamisest West Newtonis. Kavas on mitmekülgne programm, mis hõlmab:Muusikalisi etteasteid Bostoni Eesti Koolilt ja Epp Karike Soninilt ja rahvatantse meie naiste rahvatantsurühmalt "Pääsud".

Peakõneleja ettekanne Sel aastal on meil au tervitada peakõnelejana Eesti Washingtoni saatkonna asejuhti Inga Bowdenit.

Populaarse nõudmise tõttu korraldame taas BESi iseseisvuspäeva kringlikonkursi. Välja antakse auhinnad parima küpsetise eest "The Great British Bake Off" stiilis hindamisel ning rahva lemmiku auhind. Kui soovite konkursil osaleda, küpsetage palun üks eestipärane maitsev kringel. Allergiate vältimiseks palume kringlisse pähkleid mitte lisada, et kõik saaksid maitsvaid küpsetisi nautida. Külmlaud on potluck-stiilis.

Palume kaasa võtta soolast või magusat, et meie peolaud oleks rikkalik ja mitmekesine. Soovi korral võite valida roa ka lisatud nimekirjast.

Julgustame kõiki osalejaid kandma Eesti rahvariided või siis rahvapärased riided, selleks et tähistada meie pärandit ja lisada sündmusele rahvuslikku värvi.

Ürituse tulu annetatakse Ukrainian Congress Committee of America'le humanitaarabi andmiseks.

Estonian Independence Day celebration

The Boston Estonian Society invites everyone to our yearly Independence Day celebration in West Newton. We have a wonderful program planned with musical performances from the Boston Estonian School and Epp Karike Sonin, folk dancing by our women’s folk dancing group ‘Pääsud’, as well as our keynote speaker.

This year, we are honored to welcome Inga Bowden, the Deputy Head of the Estonian Embassy in Washington, as our keynote speaker.

In addition, and back by popular demand, the BES Independence Day Kringel Contest will take place again. Prizes for the ‘Best Bake’ in a "The Great British Bake Off" style judging and the People’s Choice Award will be given out. Please bring a kringel if you want to compete! We’re hoping that someone can give Paul a run for his money this year. Please don't put nuts in the kringel so that everyone can enjoy them.

The program will be followed by a potluck style buffet of an Estonian ‘cold table’: open sandwiches, rosolje, potato salads, savory and sweet bites to eat, coffee and tea. Additionally, Eve Saar will be joining us again to sell delicious Estonian bread and candies from amestfoods.com.

BYOB, so feel free to bring your favorite drink. We encourage people to wear their Estonian folk costumes in full or in part to celebrate our heritage and add color to the occasion.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America for humanitarian aid.
